Arup appoints climate change director

Arup has appointed Ben Smith as director of energy, cities and climate change.

He has joined from AECOM. where he was director of sustainable development. He has over 15 years of experience gained working on projects around the world.

On his appointment Smith said: “Joining Arup provides me with a great opportunity to continue working closely with cities on the practical steps towards addressing climate change and improving urban resilience, helping them cope with the challenges they are facing such as population growth, natural hazards, pollution and resource depletion."

Smith’s appointment expands Arup’s efforts to help cities take practical steps to address climate change and increase their resilience.
