Road construction / Shutterstock [square]Property development and construction firm Caddick Group has launched a strategic land arm that will offer site assembly, negotiation and promotion, alongside planning services.

Focusing on English regions, Caddick Land said it will offer “turnkey land solutions” to both residential and commercial developers. Rather than just securing planning permission and then selling the site on like some strategic land companies, Caddick Land will also help to put the necessary infrastructure in place to make sites more viable.

Lead by Chris Procter, Caddick Land will sit as a separate division within the Caddick Group, allowing it to draw from the company’s wider in-house multi-disciplinary expertise spanning civil engineering, construction and development.

Before setting up Caddick Land, Procter was previously at Resolved Renewables, which worked in partnership with the Caddick Group to deliver several multi-million-pound renewable energy schemes.

David Baker will be the land manager. He has several years of experience working directly with landowners where he appraised sites for financial and planning viability.

Ian Laight joins from Caddick Developments. He has experience in residential development.

Procter said: “While lots of other land companies simply come in get planning permission and sell a site, we are prepared to take a longer term view and create a turnkey land solution for commercial and residential developers by providing the necessary infrastructure to make a scheme work and maximise landowner returns.

“The creation of a strategic land division will also enable the wider Caddick Group to take a full lifecycle approach to development, from site identification through to planning and construction.”
