North Essex Garden Communities Ltd (NEGC) is looking to appoint a managing director to oversee the development of the project.

NEGC is a company set up by four councils - Braintree, Colchester, Tendring and Essex County Council – to develop the new garden communities across the region.

There is up 45,000 homes planned across the three community developments, as well as business space, transport links, schools, health facilities, parks and green spaces.

The company are looking for a “high calibre” person to oversee the project.

John Spence CBE, chairman oat NEGC said: “Over the last two years the NEGC programme has continued to progress, receiving over £1milllion in funding from the government, and gaining recognition both for its scale and ambition.

“What we are proposing is ground breaking, not just because of the scale but because it is truly about creating cohesive sustainable communities rather than just thousands of houses. We need to seek out the very best talent with the capability commensurate with the ambition.”

Recruitment will take place over the summer. It is hoped a managing director will be in post by the autumn. For more information, please email: NEGC@Colchester.gov.uk
