Stevenage Borough Council makes regeneration appointment

Patrick Lewis / press release [square]Stevenage Borough Council has appointed Patrick Lewis as its assistant director for regeneration. 

Lewis was the director of regeneration for the Welsh Government. He led the Welsh Government’s £140 million Heads of the Valleys Programme.

Before working at the Welsh Government, Lewis was a senior manager at Housing Solutions Group and has worked with Cardiff Bay Development Corporation.

At Stevenage Borough Council, Lewis will lead the council’s regeneration plans that aim to create a modern town centre for 21st century living; where people can live, work and play. The regeneration works should provide new retail units bordering the town square, 600 new homes, investment in the town square and leisure facilities. 

Scott Crudgington, chief executive at the council, said: “Patrick’s appointment will help drive forward one of the town’s top priorities in regenerating the town centre. His wealth of experience and enthusiasm will be vital in helping us create a 21st century town centre for the people of Stevenage. I look forward to working with Patrick and wish him every success at Stevenage Borough Council.”
