Directors David Blair, Nick Hirst and Leigh Dimelow have been promoted to the Principals Group, whilst Liz Catchpole, a  non-executive director at Investec Wealth & Investment UK, joins tp bennett as their non-exec chairman.

Catchpole replaces Lesley MacDonagh, who has retired after two successful years working to support the leadership with her expertise. As a non-executive chairman for tp bennett, Catchpole will offer a broad business view to the practice and contribute to the development and direction of its business strategy.

Catchpole said: “This is a great opportunity to be involved with an innovative and design-led company and I am looking forward to supporting the board by offering an external perspective as they continue to develop and implement a successful business strategy.”

Blair joined tp bennett in 1997 as an architectural assistant and advanced through the practice to director in 2011. He specialises in commercial office, student residential and mixed uses schemes on complex sites.

Hirst joined tp bennett as a graduate in 2000, and during this time has worked in both the UK, and overseas on projects in North Africa, the Middle East and Russia. He has developed mixed-use and residential masterplans for a range of public and private sector clients, and has continued to develop his heritage expertise across the health, education and hospitality sectors in the UK and North Africa.

Dimelow was promoted to head of tp bennett in Manchester in 2014 and now heads up a team of 15 where he is developing the brand across the North and North West. He leads architecture, interiors and workplace strategy for large corporate clients as well as start-ups.

Bill Soper, principal director said: “David, Nick and Leigh have consistently demonstrated great leadership qualities, they have strong client relationships and impressive track records in delivering significant projects across the UK and they will be valuable additions to our board.

"Liz’s appointment as non-executive chairman will bring to the board an outside business perspective that will further strengthen the development of a robust strategy for growth.”
