WYG makes key Scottish appointment

Multidisciplinary consultancy WYG has appointed Paul Houghton as planning director of its Edinburgh town planning team.  

Houghton has 26 years of experience in a wide range of planning disciplines in both public and private sectors. He has secured planning permissions for several retail, commercial, office, industrial, mixed-use, residential and renewables developments.

Paul Houghton / Press release [square]Houghton has been involved in about 100 planning inquiries and informal hearings in England and Scotland, as a witness and occasionally as an advocate.  

He set up his own practice, Houghton Planning, in 2012. Before this, he was the office director of Turley Associates and then Alliance Planning in Glasgow. He previously worked for Ryden Property Consultants’ residential sector and in local government at Thames Valley.  

Simon Chadwick, WYG planning director, said: “Paul will maintain and enhance our planning services in Edinburgh with particular regard to the retail and residential sectors.”
