The Chiltern Society is a member led organisation that cares for and preserves the Chiltern Hills in every aspect. Founded in 1965, the Society has over 7,000 members. The Society maintains over 12 nature reserves, woodlands and heritage sites using over 500 volunteers.

The Society is active in monitoring planning applications and plans that have an effect on the well being and the heritage of the area.
