Head of Development Management
Excellent opportunity to take up an Interim Head of Development Management role working with a client in South East London. The current post holder will be retiring at the end of March and they are looking to appoint to the role mid March to enable a handover period. The Borough's Northern border is the River Thames and they will shortly be announcing a new wave of regen and development works including 30,000 new homes so it's a busy and exciting time to join and take on the challenges that lie ahead. In this Interim role your key challenge will be in ensuring the team continues to deliver as their work schedule becomes busier and work volume continues to grow. The role reports to the Assistant Chief Exec for Growth and Regen.
To be successful in this role you will need previous management experience and the ideal candidate will be someone who has held exactly the same kind of role within another London authority. The headcount for the team is c25 people divided into teams including Planning, Planning Enforcement, Tech Support and Local Land Charges so you will need to be confident organising and managing at this level. You will also play a key role representing the Council through consultation exercises and at planning committee so you will need to be able to demonstrate a proven track record in successful negotiations and stakeholder engagement. Relevant academic and professional qualifications are essential.
This role will last at least 6 months and will pay in excess of £500/day. A full, detailed JD is available on request.
