Principal Planning Officer (Development Management)
Maldon District lies within easy reach of London and yet, according to The Times, is England’s “best countryside location.” It combines very attractive countryside with 75 miles of coastline, vibrant market towns and historic villages.
It is, however, not a ‘sleepy backwater.’ The District is experiencing unprecedented growth and the Council is balancing the provision of significant levels of housing, employment and infrastructure with the protection of the rural and coastal character, whilst encouraging an ’open for business’ approach towards attracting inward investment and economic development. The Council has moved into the delivery phase of its Local Plan, which is in its latter stages and is expected to be adopted this summer.
