An Oxfordshire Local Authority is seeking a Principal Policy Planner to take the lead in the Council’s preparation of the new Local Plan.

It would be beneficial for you to have Local Authority experience working on Policy Planning, relating to Local Plans. But, Private Sector experience would also be considered. You will be assisting the Council in the progression their Local Plan which is due for public consultation on the preferred options stage this summer. You will be involved in projects to support the Local Plan preparation such as Housing Availability assessments, and liaising with other Councils in the area carrying joint work.

This is the perfect opportunity to diversify your experience if you are already working at Principal Level, or make the step up if you are currently at a Senior level.

A Degree or Diploma in Town Planning, or related discipline, and Chartered membership or eligible for Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute would be highly advantageous.

The contract will be for an initial three months but has the potential to extend past this. Rates will be dependent on the candidate’s level of experience. The Council can offer a day home working and can be flexible with hours.
