As Principal Planner you will take the lead role on pre-application discussions and also project manage specific cases, projects and/or technical work including major and/or complex planning applications.

On a daily basis you will come into contact with a wide range of stakeholders and will be required to keep Elected Members, MPs and customers appropriately informed on planning matters and deliver a high level of customer care. You will regularly be required to attend and present items at Plans Panel, make recommendations and give planning advice to Elected Members.

To apply for this role you will need a significant amount of town planning work experience gained within a local authority context. A detailed knowledge of the statutory and policy framework within which planning decisions are made is absolutely essential as are formal qualifications; minimum to degree level and ideally with professional accreditation.

The contract will last at least 6 months and is based in West Yorkshire. Rates are negotiable.
