Principal Planning Policy Officer
Our client requires a Principal Planning Policy Officer to lead in the preparation and implementation of the Local Plan/Local Plan reviews and Community Infrastructure Levy, other planning policy documents including Development Briefs and Supplementary Planning Documents and Neighbourhood Plans. Specifically your role will focus on 2 key areas within this West London borough and you will lead on all associated project management activity.
On a day to day basis you will be required to represent the authority at a senior level when dealing with other service areas, partners, developers and interested parties to build and foster strong working relationships. You will be required to lead and co-ordinate the planning policy team's contribution to development management, including dealing with the most significant and complex major schemes, and attending meetings at the pre-application and application stage. The role will have team supervisory responsibilities.
To apply for this role it is essential that you have a strong background in local authority policy planning. You will need a relevant degree level qualification and a detailed knowledge of planning policy development and the adoption process for a Local Plan. Good organisational and communication skills are essential to this role.
The contract will last at least 6 months.
