Our client is a Local Authority based in the South East of the UK and they are seeking a Principal Planning Officer to work within Development Management. In this role you will be managing a caseload of long term, complex cases and you will be expected to do so under your own volition. The role does not necessarily carry any direct management responsibilities but as a Principal Officer you will be expected to lead by example and share your knowledge and experience to assist the wider DC team.
To apply for this role you will need to be degree qualified in a relevant town planning discipline and you will need to have previous experience managing major applications. It is essential that you are well organised and able to work well under pressure to manage your case load in line with our clients SLAs. As a Principal Officer you will be expected to act as a key contact for dealing with technical issues so you will need to be fully conversant with the latest guidelines, best practice and planning legislation.
The role is available for an initial period of 6 months and the client is willing to negotiate on rate. A full JD is available.
