A Leicestershire based Local Authority is seeking a Senior Planning Policy Officer to join their team.

The Authority are seeking a Senior Policy Planner to become a key a part of the Planning Policy team. The Authority is seeking an individual to specialise in planning policy for their upcoming Local Plan and Consultation. Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience in the formulation and implementation of spatial planning policy, including contribution to decision-making at a senior level, and of working within programme and project management principles in a challenging environment.

The role would be for an initial 3 months but ideally, they would be looking for a candidate for up to a year. The pay rate for this role is negotiable and dependent upon your level of experience and expertise.

A thorough understanding of all aspects of Planning Policy is essential and experience of Local Plans is preferred. The successful candidate will ideally have a few years of experience in a Local Authority based Planning Policy role. A chartered and qualified planner (MRTPI) is preferred but not essential.

The Council are looking for someone to interview and start as soon as possible.
