Principal Planning Officer - (Enforcement), Development Management

Band J: £33,437 to £36,379 + Essential Car User

An opportunity has arisen to join Lichfield’s Development Management Planning Enforcement Team. You will manage the Planning Enforcement Team, with direct line manager responsibility for up to 2 other officers and lead on the production and implementation of policies and procedures related to the Council’s planning enforcement function.  You will have responsibility for your own enforcement caseload, which will include serving notices and representing the Council on any enforcement appeals and court hearings, and you will also deputise for the Planning Development Manager on certain matters, including in relation to wider Development Management matters. 

You should have good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to deal with all customers tactfully and diplomatically in relation to planning enforcement matters.  It is essential you possess a planning qualification and significant experience in Local Government Planning Enforcement.  Also, you should hold a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
