Development Management Officer
The South Downs National Park offers a unique and fulfilling environment in which to develop a planning career. As a Development Management Officer you will have a case load of householder and other planning applications where the Authority delivers the planning service directly. You will travel to the application sites, assess the planning issues and make recommendations to the team leader and on occasion to the planning committee. You will also liaise with a wide variety of consultees inside the Authority, including our national park rangers, and externally.
This post would be suitable for a recently qualified Planner, or a graduate looking to commence a career in planning where they will be able to develop their knowledge and skills within the Park where the Authority deal with a wide variety of challenging applications in a sensitive landscape.
