GIS & Local Works Admin Assistant

Admin and Secretarial - Worcestershire

My client is looking for a GIS & Local Works Admin Assistant to join their team in Malvern, Worcestershire. This will be an Admin and Secretarial position. The GIS & Local Works Admin Assistant will be required to assist Engineers / Technicians within Highways with the recording of information onto spreadsheets and onto GIS which is the County Council's asset capture system. The position is generally based at the Newland depot in Malvern, although travel to other depots within the county may be a possibility in busy times.

Duties for the GIS & Local Works Admin Assistant:

  • To assist the Senior programming officer with the recording of information.
  • Plotting and updating the information on GIS (The county councils asset capture mapping system ). Training will be given.
  • To be able to produce Excel spreadsheets.
  • To be able to record information on Excel spreadsheets.
  • Answer the telephone in busy periods.
  • Produce statutory undertaker's plans for the Engineers / Technicians.
  • Produce project management plans in conjunction with Engineers / Technicians.
  • Help produce the fortnightly works programme.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Good general knowledge of the County and areas would be beneficial.
  • Candidate must have the ability to work as part of a team and be willing to be part of a very competent workforce.
  • With previous administrative experience, you will be organised and have excellent communication skills.
  • You will have good literacy and IT skills, being able to use Microsoft Office.
