PRINCIPAL PLANNING OFFICER – DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT

Salary up to £36,379 PA (37hpw) and payment of RTPI professional fee

Do you have significant Development Management experience and knowledge of a broad range of planning issues? If so, this is an ideal opportunity for you to progress your planning career. You need to have experience of handling large scale planning applications, working as part of a team and be able to make effective presentations to elected members and the public.
You will be committed to improving the quality of our planning service, whilst maintaining high performance, and be keen to help other officers reach their full potential. You must be a Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI) or possess a relevant planning qualification and have suitable experience to gain immediate membership.
Responsible for the operational management of a small area team of Development Management planning officers, you will also deal with a caseload of major and complex planning proposals in the Borough, including the formulation of associated policies and development briefs. You will be a leading officer in the section and will report directly to the Service Manager – Development Services.
