Brentwood has a diverse mix of rural and urban environments all set within a borough dominated by high quality countryside in the green belt.  It is subject to significant growth pressure but retains a strong historical context.  Located adjacent to the M25, it has excellent transport links into London and the development of Crossrail will more than double the number of trains coming into the Borough, making it a desirable place to work and live.

This role would suit an individual with at least 2 years current experience of working within a development management planning environment, and who is looking to progress or build on their ability to interpret and assess applications against established planning principles, local and national policies.  You will be highly motivated and possess excellent communication skills.  In return, a competitive salary and opportunity to work remotely including home working is offered.

For further information and an application form please contact Human Resources, Britannia House, Mere Way, Ruddington, Nottingham NG11 6JS or telephone or 0115 977 6850. Email brentwoodBC@mhr.co.uk or visit http://www.brentwood.gov.uk to apply online.

For an informal discussion please contact Caroline McCaffrey or Nick Howard by email to planning@brentwood.gov.uk

Brentwood Council is committed to equal opportunities and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.  People with disabilities will be offered an interview where they meet the Essential Criteria on the Person Specification.
