Horsham District Council has an exciting opportunity for a Major Applications Team Leader to lead our major applications team.

Horsham has an up to date local plan and will be starting an early review, with a consultation on our employment strategy due shortly.  Over 90% of our District is covered by a Neighbourhood Plan designation.  We have 4 Made Neighbourhood Plans and 19 in preparation.  We have 16,000 homes to provide for and consented over 1100 last year.  We consider around 3000 applications each year with one of the highest number of major applications in the surrounding area.

As Major Applications Team Leader you will be directly responsible for the day-to-day management of the major applications team, overseeing all major planning applications and assist the Head of Development in the management of the overall Development department.

To succeed as Major Applications Team Leader you will have experience of dealing with a wide range of development control issues at a senior level, including complex pre-application enquiries and planning applications.  You will be a good communicator, have good presentation skills and supervisory experience.
