Planning Enforcement Project Manager
Our client is looking to appoint a Project Manager within their Planning Enforcement team to manage a wide range of planning enforcement cases but with a specific requirement to lead a number of high profile cases in conjunction with their Private Rented Property Licensing Team. As with many areas in London their housing service is under considerable pressure to provide good quality accommodation and the recent introduction of the private rented licensing scheme means that every privately rented home in the area must apply for a license.
Our client needs a Planning Enforcement officer who is capable of working under pressure to investigate breaches of planning legislation and work pro-actively to enforce building control legislation. Typically the caseload covers unauthorised developments, flat conversions, beds in sheds and unauthorised changes of use. You will be required to manage cases from end to end including any subsequent appeals, serving as our client's expert in all enforcement related matters.
The ideal candidate for this role would be technically qualified in town planning or building control but our client will consider those with a significant level of experience who can clearly demonstrate a proven track record in managing enforcement cased within the private rented housing spectrum. You will need good project management skills and the ability to work well under your own initiative.
The rate on offer will be at least £230/day (negotiable) and given our clients workload it is likely this role will go on for some time. Our client is a local authority based in East London.
