Team Manager – Development Management x2
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has a good planning service which we are aiming to transform to excellent. We are looking to recruit two experienced development management planner who are ready to take the next step in their career and lead a group of development management staff in our expanding planning team.
Windsor and Maidenhead is a very interesting place to work.
We have a wide range of planning issues to tackle. It is a growing Borough, located within easy access of Central London and is seen as an increasingly attractive place for business growth and investment.
The two main towns have different planning pressures; there is the culture and heritage of Windsor and the regeneration of Maidenhead. There are also smaller towns and villages,
many located in the green belt, where the pressure of development is of concern to local people.
This is a good place to live and work. There are excellent transport connections to London and the West of England, with Cross Rail opening in Maidenhead in 2019.
We are a busy service dealing with over 3500 planning decisions a year. You would be leading up to six case officers, managing their performance, ensuring quality and timely decisions and developing staff capacity to achieve their very best. As part of the services management team you would also be expected to play a key role in the delivery the service’s Transformation Plan. We are aiming for to adopt new ways of working, achieve outstanding performance in a modern and ultimately paperless service.
You must have significant experience of dealing with major and complicated cases and have worked in a political environment.
