Elmbridge Borough Council may not be a Local Authority that you have heard of, but it is one that you should consider for your next job role. We are located in Esher, Surrey and cover towns such as Weybridge and Walton on Thames. You may not be based in the Borough but rest assured that there are good rail and road links to London and the South East.

We are one of the smaller Surrey Local Authorities but with land values that rival London and a population of approximately 135,000, we will provide an exciting and challenging step in your career. Not only will you be working in an organisation determined to put its residents at the centre of everything we do but you will also have the benefit of a dedicated and supportive team, determined to make the best decisions for Elmbridge.

There is also the flexibility; if you are seeking that elusive work life balance but don’t want to give up the challenging and thought-provoking parts of the job, then we could be the organisation for you.

Our planning team is offering roles for both experienced planners and those just starting out. One of the roles is for a Planning Policy Manager to lead our excellent policy team in the preparation of our Local Plan; we are at the early stages of producing our Plan allowing you the opportunity to work with us to shape it. We will all work together to ensure we have the best solution for Elmbridge.

We are a progressive and enthusiastic organisation offering big opportunities. We are really keen on learning and development and more than willing to create a bespoke learning and development package for you including professional qualifications. We want you to thrive at Elmbridge; if you enjoy your role and feel valued then both the organisation and our residents benefit.

If this advert has intrigued you please contact us (Kim Tagliarini, Head of Planning 01372 474702), go on our website (elmbridge.gov.uk)  or search for us on Google to find out more about us. Ideally you will call us and that way we can answer any niggles and questions you have as you decide whether to submit an application. The link below will bring you to the job description and person specification which may also aid your decision.

Good luck!
