Cornwall has an ambitious plan to deliver 3000 homes and 2000 jobs each year for the next five years. The first ever Cornwall Local Plan was adopted in November 2016. The Planning and Sustainable Development Service is part of a newly formed Directorate focussed on sustainable economic and housing growth.
We are planning a substantial increase in our own capital programme, building homes, workspace and communities. We are the largest Local Planning Authority in England and we need an exceptional person to take on this role as a crucial member of the Service Management Team, and Directorate Extended Leadership Team.
You will have a crucial service leadership role and will be the face of our agenda for growth on behalf of our Directorate. Your focus will be to enable and facilitate development opportunities needed to deliver the local plan, providing the key link between the local plan, direct delivery by the Council as well as the private sector.

We want a talented leader and manager - motivated by innovation, timeliness and customers. As well as your other responsibilities you will be expected to take a place lead for nominated town/s in Cornwall, and lead as Senior Responsible Officer for directorate wide projects.
