epd is looking to expand its Worcester-based planning team and is keen to receive applications from ambitious, experienced town planners with a ‘can-do’ attitude who are ready for a challenge and want to be involved in developing and shaping our consultancy services.
epd is one of three Parkwood Consultancy Services businesses that together provide planning, landscape, environmental management, energy, civil and structural engineering, project management and asset management services.
There is no such thing as a ‘typical project’ at epd. We are fairly unique in providing consultancy services both to our internal clients, epd being part of the Parkwood and Glendale group of companies, and to the private and public sector. Whilst our internal work involves supporting a diverse range of projects such as leisure and outdoor activity centres, golf courses, theatres, horticultural nurseries and arboricultural, forestry and grounds management businesses, our private and public sectors work includes residential, commercial/industrial, energy and waste management schemes.
As a senior planner you will be involved in both delivering planning services and business development. You will be required to advise clients on development opportunities and planning strategies, carry out site appraisals to support acquisitions, prepare planning applications and carry out associated activities such as community consultation, coordinate environmental impact assessments and undertake S106 negotiations, as well as support land promotions through the local plan process. You will be expected to develop and manage your own workload, including project management activities, and support the work of others. You will also be expected to prepare fee proposals and tender responses, develop new client relationships and identify new opportunities.
To join our team you must be self-motivated and a team player. Your planning experience should be varied in terms of sectors and scale of projects, with experience of business development, appeal work and/or environmental impact assessment an advantage, although not essential. You should be MRTPI and ideally have over 5 years experience in either private consultancy practice or the public sector. You must have excellent written and oral communication skills, be organised and computer literate.
If you are interested in joining epd’s planning team please send us your curriculum vitae with an introductory letter outlining why this opportunity interests you and how your skills and experiences meet our requirements, clearly marked ‘Senior Planner’ to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK. epd is an equal opportunities employer.
