Senior Planning Officer
Based in Sussex, my client are looking for a Senior Planner to help out their Development Management function on an initial 6 month contract.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be working on a mixed caseload of planning applications including majors of up to 100+ units. You will assess, negotiate and determine these applications before preparing reports and presenting to committee if necessary.
Other applications to be processed will be those involving listed buildings, conservation areas and multiples dwellings. To do this you will undergo site visits, enter negotiations with applicants and make recommendations.
Flexible working is available and discussions can be held around personalised arrangements.
You ideally will have a track record of successfully project managing major development proposals within time-frames.
In addition to holding a relevant degree qualification you will need a minimum of 3 years experience working on similar projects within public sector planning. A good knowledge of planning legislation and the ability to work to deadlines within a fast paced environment is essential.
Candidates who hold RTPI membership and access to a vehicle for site visits are desirable for this position.
