Senior Planning Officer - Development Management P00054
At Lichfield we have a significant growth agenda and a strong emphasis on quality design, and we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can contribute towards this.
The candidate should ideally be a qualified planner (MRTPI) or working towards this, with post qualification experience in development management, including within a Local Planning Authority. You should have a good knowledge of the planning system, excellent organisational and time management skills and be a good team player with the ability to negotiate on complex schemes and have good written and verbal communication skills. An appreciation and understanding of urban design principles would also be very useful in this role.
You will work in a senior capacity within our busy development management team and your work will include dealing with minor and major applications with an emphasis on contributing towards the Council’s committed development team approach and high quality service. You will also be required to present at Planning Committee (evening meetings).
Applicants will need to demonstrate that they meet the person specification and competencies for at least band G to be shortlisted for interview.
