Planning Officer - DM
Our client requires a Planning Officer within their Development Management team. You will be required to examine planning application cases by reviewing planning history and undertaking site inspections as required. Working to our clients planning framework you will checking planning applications for validity and implement appropriate procedures for consultations, some of which will involve external organisations and representatives as well as the general public. The role requires someone who is capable of managing a caseload of applications and their content and complexity will be paired with your level of competency (typically they are small and medium sized applications).
To undertake this role you will need a relevant town planning degree and you will need recent experience processing planning applications within a local authority planning team. You will need a good awareness of current planning legislation and professional practice enabling you to advise on the efficiency and effectiveness of methods and procedures and make suggestions for enhancements. Good communication skills are essential and you must be confident in dealing with the general public.
The role is based in North East London. Rates are negotiable, we'd expect £18-£23/hr which is commensurate with the level of experience required for this role.
