Senior Planning Officer
About the Role
The main purpose of this role is to work on a mixed caseload of planning applications of up to 9 units. You will assess, negotiate and determine these applications before preparing reports and presenting to committee if necessary.
Other applications to be processed will be those involving listed buildings, conservation areas and multiples dwellings. To do this you will undergo site visits, enter negotiations with applicants and make recommendations.
You ideally will have a track record of dealing with a mixed caseload of planning applications and have a strong desire to further yourself in the Planning field. RTPI Membership is preferred but not essential.
In addition to holding a relevant degree qualification you will need a minimum of 3 years experience working on similar projects within public sector planning. A good knowledge of planning legislation and the ability to work to deadlines within a fast paced environment is essential.
