Enforcement Officer - City Council
A City Council in the South of England is looking for a Planning Enforcement Officer who would like to join a busy team.
You will be responsible for investigating breaches of control under Planning and Listed Building legislation. This will involve dealing with compliance of planning permissions/conditions such as unlawful extensions and advertisements and issues surrounding 'Beds in Sheds.' The cases will be predominantly housing issues, and commercial changes of use.
You will be conducting site visits and preparing concise Enforcement reports. You will need to be able to seek to resolve breaches of Planning by negotiation. You will need to be a confident communicator, who can work with a broad range of customers and Planning professionals to interpret legislation, and resolve disputes and complaints in a timely manner. It would be beneficial but not essential if you were a qualified Planner.
The rate for this position is negotiable and dependent upon past experience in Planning and Enforcement. The contract is likely to run for 4-6 months. This role is Inside IR35.
