Senior/ Principal Planner - Berkshire
A Berkshire Local Authority is seeking a Senior Planner who can handle a caseload of major applications, with some complex minor cases.
You will play a crucial role processing and managing a caseload of primarily major residential schemes. You will also have an opportunity to work on controversial planning applications and appeal cases, covering all types of development issues and presenting at Committee.
You will be liaising with other departments in the Council and Planning Consultancies and Developers whilst working on some large scale planning applications in the area. The applications will typically be 50/60 units. There will also be some mentoring of junior members of staff.
You should hold several years experience of Development Management Planning within a Local Authority, having previously dealt with both minor and major applications. It would be preferable if you were MRTPI accredited. You should have excellent knowledge of planning legislation and planning processes. The Council would also consider some candidates with Private Sector experience.
The role is Inside IR35 and the rate is negotiable dependent on experience. The contract would be on a 3 month rolling basis with the likelihood to extend to 6-9 months.
