Customer Advisor - Town Planning
This role sits within our client's Planning and Building Control team and would be well suited to those looking for an entry level role and the opportunity to develop a career in town planning. You will be required to provide an efficient front-line customer contact service acting as a point of contact for providing information, advice and assistance on Planning, Building Control and Land Charge services provided by the Council. You will be required to deal with customers in a polite, courteous, efficient and effective manner at all times, taking into account their individual needs.
As part of this role you will carry out financial duties in respect of the processing and reconciliation of payments. You will provide advice and updates on application progress and regulatory functions of the Development team service areas and general advice on other related council services as appropriate.
The role would be well suited to a town planning graduate who has gained some work experience, perhaps through placement or an internship; any previous customer service experience would be an advantage. Good communication skills are essential and you will need to be confident on the phone.
The role is based within one of the busiest and most diverse planning authorities in East London so this is an excellent opportunity. The initial contract will run until at least the end of February 2018 and the rate will be around £16-£18
