This Sussex-based Local Authority are on the lookout for a Principal Planning Officer to add to their existing capacity. They have excellent transport links from Central London and have incredible work on offer.

About the role

You will be required to take on a ranged caseload of planning applications (involving Conservation Areas, Listed Buildings Consent etc.) - with emphasis of major residential and commercial applications (50+ units) affiliated with the regeneration/development of the Town Centre. Supporting, you will conduct site inspections, prepare and provide planning advice to stakeholders and negotiate on planning obligations under Section 106.

During your 3-6 month contract, you will also prepare reports for committee and draft statements for Written representation appeals whilst attending Public Inquiries and Informal Hearings.

About you

The successful candidate will ideally be MRTPI accredited and must hold a degree relative to Town Planning. You should also have proven experience working on similar projects in the UK and knowledge to hit the ground running with little to no supervision.

You will have excellent knowledge of Planning Legislation whilst exercising a desire to keep knowledge up-to-date and maintaining competency to adapt to changing legislation.
