Senior Planning Officer – Planning Policy

(£30,453 - £34,166)

We are looking for a talented, self-motivated and enthusiastic Planner who can really make an impact. The successful applicant will be responsible for making a significant contribution to the preparation of planning policy documents for Worcester City, taking the lead on specific policy areas and Supplementary Planning Documents. You will need good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the capacity to work flexible hours to suit the needs of the service.

The candidate must be a member of the RTPI and have at least Three years experience within a planning role, preferably within local government. The candidate must also be able to demonstrate significant knowledge of the planning system and plan-making process and have a track record of contributing to the preparation of planning policy documents.

Worcester City Council currently work jointly with Malvern Hills and Wychavon District Councils on most aspects of planning policy and therefore the candidate must be flexible to attend meetings across south Worcestershire.

We can offer a varied and challenging workload, extensive training and CPD opportunities and a friendly working environment in City Centre offices in an historic city surrounded by exceptional countryside.
