If you are currently working in Planning Enforcement and would be interested in working for a well established Local Authority in the South East, then this role is well worth considering.

About the Role

You will be responsible for investigating breaches of control under Planning and Listed Building legislation. This will involve dealing with compliance of planning permissions/conditions and consulting with the Enforcement Team Leader whether enforcement action should be taken against unauthorised development in accordance with the Council's Scheme of Delegation.

You will also prepare reports on enforcement issues and presenting such reports at Committee. You will present evidence at the Public Local Inquiries and at Court in connection with enforcement and other issues as considered appropriate by the Head of Planning and Development Control/Management Manager.

About you

You will ideally have a relevant degree in the built environment (planning, geography, architecture, conservation etc.) or equivalent experience within Planning Enforcement and Development Control.

You will need to be a confident communicator, with an outgoing personality who enjoys working with our broad range of customers and planning professionals to interpret legislation, and resolve disputes and complaints in a timely manner.
