A Local Authority in Buckinghamshire requires a Principal Planner to work in the Majors Team.

The Council is looking for an experienced Planner who can hit the ground running on major applications. This authority has received a large influx of planning applications due to increasing development in the local area. You will be managing a caseload of major applications, in a mixture of rural and semi-rural locations. The application sizes start at 4 dwellings and most applications are between 15-40 dwellings and sometimes 100+. You will be attending committee and writing detailed reports.

The contract will be initially 3 months until the end of the financial year, with a view to extend. The council can offer competitive rates and extremely flexible working arrangements. This role is Outside IR35.

Candidates should hold several years experience of planning Development Management experience within a Local Authority, having previously dealt with major applications. It is important for candidates to be politically sensitive to issues accompanying large-scale applications. Experience working on appeals and upcoming public enquiries and negotiating with developers and members of the public would be beneficial, but not essential. It would be preferable if you were MRTPI accredited.

If you believe, your skills and experience fit this role, or would like to discuss other opportunities in the Buckinghamshire area, please contact me on 020 7766 9063 or apply below!
