Principal Planning Officer
These are full-time posts (37 hours per week) within the Spatial Planning Team based in Sandbach, Cheshire
Cheshire East Council is a large unitary authority covering an attractive area in North West England and facing a diverse range of planning issues.
The Council is seeking enthusiastic and experienced policy officers to assist in preparing its Local Plan, the strategic element of which was adopted in July 2017. Work is now focused on the more detail aspects of the Plan. Both posts will have a particular focus on housing issues with the Principal Officer taking a lead in this respect. This will include housing policy preparation and housing monitoring. The Principal post holder will be expected from time to time to represent the Council at planning appeals where housing land supply is being contested. Experience in this area is therefore desirable. Opportunities will also be available to contribute to the full range of other work that the team carries out.
You should be qualified to degree level within a Planning or related discipline and be MRTPI.
