Senior Planning Enforcement Officer
This Surrey-based client are calling out to all Planning professionals who hold Enforcement experience. With a stones throw away from London and with easy commutable routes from Sussex and Kent, this could be an ideal opportunity for a change in scenery or to tie you over until the summer months.
About the Role
To process enforcement related and other planning applications up to and including a recommendation on how they should be decided.
To prepare cases for enforcement and enforcement related and other planning appeals, including giving expert evidence at Inquiries and Hearings.
To investigate suspected breaches of planning control, in particular those involving a failure to comply with planning permissions and planning conditions, and to make recommendations for appropriate action.
To give advice and guidance to the general public on matters relevant to the work of the Enforcement and wider Development Control Team.
To supervise and give advice to less senior officers in the Enforcement Team on enforcement matters on a day to day basis.
To maintain a specialist knowledge relating to planning enforcement issues.
You will ideally be eligible for, or have, Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and be qualified to degree level in Town Planning or a relevant discipline whilst having significant experience in Planning Enforcement within a UK Local Authority.
