Senior Planning Officers ( 1 X Major Projects and 1x Area Team)

An exciting opportunity has now arisen for two talented, self-motivated senior planners to join the Council’s Development Management Team to contribute towards meeting the Borough’s spatial objectives. The service receives many significant major planning applications ranging from large commercial operations to major new housing sites of up to 1,500 dwellings providing a wide ranging and interesting workload.
The successful candidates would be expected to be proactive problem solvers and advocates for high-quality place making. You would need to be able to work on your own initiative, lead on many complex planning cases, attend and present at Planning Committee and take the lead on behalf of the Council at planning appeals. Preferably you would already be an RPTI member (or at the very least be eligible to apply for full membership) with demonstrable experience of handling complex planning cases.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic planner wanting to gain a wide breadth of experience across a wide range of planning issues and to be involved with a progressive and innovative team aiming to make a significant difference to the quality of life for those living and working within the Borough.
These are both permanent positions working 37 hours per week.
