As part of the Council’s senior management team, you will be helping to drive forward the District’s long term vision and strategic objectives in partnership with residents and public, private and voluntary bodies. You will be joining a highly motivated team to help deliver an exciting and innovative programme of growth. Leading the Council’s Development Management, Building Control and Forward Planning teams, work will include managing the Rossendale Local Plan review process through to adoption. You will also possess skills and experience in introducing innovation and change in service delivery to take account of changes at a national level in respect of legislation, regulation and policy.

With a relevant degree/professional qualification and membership of the RTPI, you will bring significant experience within both Development Management and Development Planning. Able to lead on Examinations in Public and Planning appeals involving complex development issues and with the gravitas to communicate at all levels on complex planning issues, you will also have a detailed knowledge of planning legislation and best practice and the ability to manage complex projects.
