Planning Policy Officer
We have an opportunity for a newly qualified or experienced planning professional to take on a diverse portfolio, as part of a friendly and close-working planning policy team.
The South Downs National Park Authority is a vibrant organisation created to care for the landscapes, wildlife and heritage of the National Park and to help people learn about and enjoy the area. We also have an important role to support the local communities that live and work here. As well as managing change in rural areas, we are responsible for planning in urban areas such as Lewes, Petersfield and Midhurst, amounting to a truly varied workload.
You will gain valuable first-hand experience of the Local Plan examination, supporting the progression of various policies through to adoption. You will also have opportunity to support neighbourhood plans and work with local communities. You will have a leading role in monitoring development, and gathering other evidence to support the new Local Plan’s implementation.
