Major Schemes Officer
Temporary post for 24 months
Blaby District offers the full range of challenges for development and planning professionals; covering parts of the urban fringe of Leicester City, the M1 Junction 21 retail and commercial hub, a range of towns and villages, and attractive rural countryside. The growth of the area is at an unprecedented peak; with a number of high profile and significant and development projects either underway or starting. These include a new 4,250 home community currently under construction; and the largest retail development in the country just starting on site.
In addition, we are now planning for the long term at a strategic level; with a draft Growth Plan for Leicester and Leicestershire currently being prepared, and work underway on looking at large scale sites to 2050. We have ambitious plans for growth; and have recently set up a new Strategic Growth Team as a reflection of this.
Due to this strategic growth focus, and the increasing levels of development, we are looking to recruit to a Major Schemes Officer role to support delivery (temporary post for two years).
