An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Development Management team at Lichfield District Council. We are ideally situated in the heart of the Midlands, based in the historic centre of Lichfield. We are within easy reach of Birmingham and the District includes beautiful countryside including an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This presents a broad range of development opportunities, challenges and pressures for the District.

Due to an internal promotion, an opportunity has arisen to join Lichfield’s Development Management Team as a planning/senior planning officer. You will have responsibility for your own caseload of applications, dealing with planning applications for new housing and commercial schemes, including major proposals. You will also be required to give pre-application advice and guidance to members of the public and developers on a wide range of planning related issues and present at our Planning Committee.

You should have excellent team working and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, and be committed to quality in the built environment. Also, you should have a full driving licence and a planning related degree recognised by the RTPI, and post qualification experience in planning.

If this sounds like an opportunity you would relish, in return for bringing your skills, knowledge and enthusiasm we can offer you the chance to be part of a hard working team who support each other and work together to achieve shared goals and deliver growth.
