Senior Planning Officer
Reading has an exciting, fast moving planning environment under considerable pressure for development. The Council’s Planning Section requires an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated planner to lead a development management area team and other support team(s) dealing with planning case work and associated responsibilities in one half of the Borough.
We require an enthusiastic and motivated individual to undertake a variety of Planning work in the Development Management Team of the Council’s Planning Section.
Your main duties will be to contribute at senior level to all aspects of development management in the planning service within one of the area planning teams. You will be responsible for processing pre-application enquiries on more complex minor/other/major planning applications including presenting planning applications at committee. You will also deal with appeals using the written representation or hearing process. Sometimes providing expediency responses for more complex enforcement cases and be part of a duty rota providing planning information to the public.
You will have a degree in Planning or a closely related relevant degree and at least 3 years experience working in a planning office.
