P111 Principal Planning Officer (Strategic Development)

Part time (30 hours a week)

Charnwood Borough Council is based in the heart of the thriving, award-winning market town of Loughborough.  It is the fourth largest borough council in the country and is home to the highly reputable Loughborough University and a Science and Enterprise Park.  Nestled in the heart of the glorious Charnwood Forest, there are a wide range of unique shopping, diverse eating out experiences, family attractions, exciting events and plenty of places to enjoy and explore.

Surrounded by beautiful countryside, the town is ideally based to explore Charnwood and its great parks, including Charnwood Forest and Bradgate Park.

The location is also ideal for exploring the cities of Nottingham, Leicester and Derby, as well as being close to a variety of tourist attractions such as the Donnington Park Race Track, Peak District, Sherwood Forest and the National Space Centre.

Well connected?

Absolutely, with the M1 motorway just 10 mins away and direct access to Derby (27mins), Nottingham (30mins), Leicester (18mins) and Birmingham (50mins) driving to and from the offices could not be easier!

Travelling by train? Great, did you know you can get to the heart of Leicester in just 7 min, Nottingham City Centre in 14 min, Sheffield in 52 min and Central London in 1 hour 18 min!
