Senior/Principal Planner

We work across Wales and the UK

Our continually growing practice means that we have immediate requirements for additional bright, enthusiastic, and ambitious people to resource our wide, varied, and interesting workload.

We are a highly regarded team of professionals who are renowned for the highest standards of client care and output, and are regularly called upon to transact complex and high-profile projects (often to very demanding deadlines). Repeat business and recommendations represent the entirety of our workload. We work across Wales and the UK.

We are passionate about what we do, and about our client’s instructions.  We like to think that we have a very personable approach to our work, which is well respected.

We have an excellent track record in achieving results, through planning applications and appeals. Cases vary from single bespoke architecturally designed dwellings, through to strategic sites. We cover all development sectors, and cover the whole range of the planning system, including: appeals; enforcement; conservation and listed buildings; planning policy promotion; and other planning related procedures. In addition, exposure to clients, finance, and marketing etc. is encouraged and expected at all levels.

Ideally we are looking for someone with Development Management experience at Senior / Principal level.

We need enthusiastic and committed people who value attention to detail, strive for perfection, and are responsive.

Specific requirements and skills include: excellent report writing skills; a good telephone manner; and a "can do" attitude and approach. In addition, a degree and / or Masters in town planning will be necessary, as will membership of (or eligibility for) the Royal Town Planning Institute. Holding a full driving licence and access to a car is also necessary.

Our web site (www.geraintjohnplanning.co.uk) provides additional detail about what we do (our Services & Projects), who we do it for (our Clients), and importantly what our values are (Approach) etc.
