Assistant Planner or Graduate / Planner
Based at King’s Court Council Offices, King’s Lynn
We have two opportunities for you to join our Planning team. Working in our Planning Policy Team as either an Assistant Planner or Graduate, or within our Planning Control team as either a Graduate Planner or a Planner, you will gain experience of a range of planning issues and related applications, including urban, rural and coastal planning.
From the Fens in the south to the Norfolk Coast AONB, there are a diversity of landscapes and rural issues in this large Borough. There is also urban regeneration and the need to plan for significant growth in the towns. We need you to help balance the new growth planned for the area, with the preservation of the Borough’s unique environment and heritage.
With familiarity of planning legislation and procedures, and national guidance, you will need to carry out your duties efficiently and effectively, using good communication skills to provide our customers with a high quality service.
For the Assistant Planner Level, you must hold a minimum standard of education to A levels in relevant subjects.
For the Graduate Level and above, you must hold a degree in Town Planning, with eligibility to become a full member of the RTPI.
For the Planner level you must also have a minimum of 12 months experience of working in Development Control/Management (within the local government context).
Apply online at www.west-norfolk.gov.uk or contact us on personnel@west-norfolk.gov.uk.
