The Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Service covering Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire is  one of the most exciting and dynamic areas in the country  to be a planner, with a large number of strategic site developments at different stages and a new Local Plan to deliver.

The range of opportunities we have provides you with the chance to be at the centre and shape how the service develops to meet the challenges of delivering an extraordinary range of innovative and rewarding projects. In Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire we have nationally significant schemes ranging from regeneration to provide a new low carbon district on the edge of the city and a healthy new town at Northstowe, to meeting the planning needs of Europe’s most important biotechnology cluster and leading the first joint Local Plan in an area that has the fastest-growing city economy in the country.

Greater Cambridge, which is just 45 minutes on the train from London, is an engine for national economic growth. In these roles you will be working with world class architects and other specialists on schemes that provide huge professional rewards.

Roles currently available:

Planning Policy Manager – The role will lead the delivery of the new Greater Cambridge Joint Local Plan which will be commencing this year and all other planning policy for the two Councils.

Delivery Manager for Strategic Sites – The role is responsible for delivery of a range of large-scale strategic developments including new towns at Waterbeach and Northstowe, a new village at Bourn, major employment areas such as the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and award winning mixed use urban extension developments such as North West Cambridge.

Both these roles require candidates with good leadership , people and project management skills, with a focus on delivery of high quality outcomes and excellent customer service.
