Victorian Society appoints new director

The Victorian Society has appointed James Hughes as its new director.
Hughes joined the society in 2011 as a conservation adviser and from 2015 has had overall responsibility for the society’s casework as the senior conservation advisor.
He takes over from Joe O’Donnell who led the society until February 2024.
Hughes said: "The society inevitably faces many challenges, but opportunities abound, and I look forward to focussing my energies on expanding the reach of the society and building on its vital work."
