Law firm Addleshaw Goddard has recruited Glenn Sharpe as a new planning partner in the company’s real estate team.

Sharpe will work across Addleshaw Goddard’s northern offices, with specific responsibility for driving growth in local markets.

Formerly national head of planning for DWF Law and planning and environment lead for North Yorkshire County Council, Sharpe has a wealth of experience in infrastructure planning and urban development across both the public and private sectors.

His expertise covers energy, renewables, transport, retail and residential, and former clients include National Air Traffic Service, Liverpool Airport and Aggregate Industries UK Ltd.

Marnix Elsenaar, head of planning for Addleshaw Goddard, said: "This is a major hire into our growing planning team and also for our UK real estate team. With over 100 real estate lawyers in our Leeds and Manchester offices and a growing focus on energy and transport, Glenn's hire allows us to take advantage of new and existing opportunities and broadens our existing capability."
